Shelley is a small Yorkshire village on the edge of the Pennines about 800ft above sea level with
magnificent views over the surrounding countryside.
We are very much in the country but reasonably close to civilisation. Huddersfield is 6 miles away,
Wakefield 12 miles, Barnsley 10 miles and Holmfirth which is the “Last of the Summer Wine” town
is a mere 3 miles. In fact Shelley has appeared scores of times on the programme but always way
off in the background. And if you still don’t know where we are, look for the Emley TV mast for that is only a mile away and dominates the view to our North East.
Where the heck is that?
