The Bridge Club
The Shelley Bridge Club held its first meeting on February 2nd 1979, which meant that in year 2000 it was not only the millennium but more importantly the 21st anniversary of the club.

Shelley Contract Bridge Club meets every Wednesday evening from 7.00pm until
10 00pm in the Village Hall to play duplicate bridge and has been running for over 24 years at this venue.

There are currently 62 members residing not only in Shelley but also the neighbouring villages of Denby Dale, Kirkburton, Scissett, Skelmanthorpe, and Stocksmoor.

The club has a friendly atmosphere with players of mixed abilities, and is affiliated to the Yorkshire County Bridge Association and thus to the English Bridge Union.

We would welcome new players who wish to have a game and prospective new members are allowed 3 visits without charge.

Membership costs 1.50 per annum plus E.B.U. and Y.C.B.A. subs.
